Jeff Lacy II?
Adrien Broner sort of looks like Floyd Mayweather Jr. when he fights. He must be good.
Should he?
He hasn’t really fought anybody. He was a big super-featherweight — which wasn’t his fault — but now he’s going up in weight (hopefully he can be bothered to make 135) and if he wants to become a superstar, at some point he will have to take a risk.
But how good is Broner? It is not difficult to find somebody who believes that Daniel Ponce De Leon was robbed against Broner 18 months ago.
Can Ricky Burns beat Broner? Why not. Broner could be the second coming up Jeff Lacy (the mini-Mike Tyson) for all we know.
Hype is great, but we’ll see how Broner performs when he’s matched up against a genuine challenge. Beating Antonio DeMarco will make a good start at winning a few skeptics over to Team Broner.
